Bedford Falls Players Seek Scripts, Actors for Last Saturdays Shorts
Posted by Gail M. Burns - June 2009
“LAST SATURDAY’S SHORTS” is a playwriting series that stages a show the last Saturday of every other month (hence the title). The venue is Zuzu’s Wonderful Life, Inc.
, which is an arts space on Hamilton St. in Albany, NY.
It is an opportunity for local writers to try out new one-act pieces and present them to a live audience. With few props, scripts in hands, it’s original, it’s lively and good entertainment! Most of our pieces are comedies, but dramatic pieces and monologues have also been presented.
If you would like to submit a play or act with us (or both!) please give us a call.
We meet the first Sunday of each month for a read-through, hold a dress rehearsal the last Friday, and then present the plays on the last Saturday of the month. The director of each play will rehearse his/her own play separately two or three times during the month. This process gives actors comfortability with the scripts and writers an opportunity to improve their work.
To be a part of our July show, or for general information, please call Julie at (518) 451-9978.
