Schuylerville Community Theater Announces Auditions for “Showtune”

The Schuylerville Community Theater is pleased to announce auditions for their Spring musical production of Showtune on February 22, 2010. The show dates are April 23, 24 25, 30 and May 1, 2010 in the Town of Saratoga Hall in Schuylerville, NY.
This musical memoir of the life of composer-lyricist Jerry Herman of Mame, Hello Dolly! Mack & Mabel and La Cage aux Folles fame to name just a few, requires 4 men and 3 women to sing and tap dance their way thru the songs and times of this uniquely talented man.
Auditions will be held beginning with registration at 6:30 p.m. and vocals starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Schuylerville Elementary School Cafetorium located on Rte. 29 in Schuylerville.
Those interested may sing anything from any Jerry Herman musical, and will be asked to demonstrate their tap dancing skills by repeating a simple combination given by the choreographer. An accompanist and some musical selections will be available, however, participants are welcomed to bring their own music if so desired.
