Fellowship Opportunities in Development & Marketing at Chester

Chester Theatre Company, a professional theatre located in the foothills to the Berkshires, is offering unpaid Fellowship opportunities for individuals with a background in marketing and development. These Fellowships offer excellent hands-on experience working with nonprofit theatre professionals in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Flexible scheduling and telecommuting options are available, and Fellowships may be tailored or combined to individual interests. Current students may be eligible for payment through their Work Study program, or for credit through their college or university.
MARKETING FELLOWSHIP
This Fellowship provides the opportunity to market a season of plays, with particular emphasis on online marketing and social networking. Create and oversee marketing and outreach on Facebook, Twitter, and other online applications; participate in planning and executing marketing through direct mail, media relations and paid advertising. We are seeking a self-directed individual with experience or coursework in marketing, working knowledge of online social marketing, and the creativity to conduct effective outreach on a tight budget. The ideal candidate will begin work immediately upon hire, and continue through the end of August.
DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP
This Fellowship provides the opportunity to gain significant hands-on experience in researching, writing and submitting grant applications to foundations. Work directly with experienced nonprofit professionals to create development campaign materials, plan and submit grant proposals, with opportunities to assist with direct mail solicitations and special events. We are seeking a self-directed individual with excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail. Previous grant-writing experience a plus. The ideal candidate will begin work immediately upon hire.

About Chester Theatre Company
Chester Theatre Company is a professional summer theatre located in the foothills of the Berkshires. Founded in 1990 by Vincent Dowling as The Miniature Theatre of Chester, CTC produces 4-5 plays each summer and fall, performed by top-flight actors, directors and designers from across the country. Performances take place in the intimate setting of the Chester Town Hall, with audiences are drawn from the Pioneer Valley, Berkshire County, and portions of Connecticut and New York.
