Debut Event in Fenimore Asset Management/FAM Funds Family Series

Schenectady, NY — Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale of Mera, The Little Mermaid, comes to life in this musical adaptation in which Mera and her underwater friends splash onto the stage with fresh songs, exciting dances and beautiful effects.

The show, appropriate for pre-school through second graders, is the first of four events that comprise the 2010 Fenimore Asset Management/FAM Funds Family Series at Proctors. The Series, which introduces young people to the magic and wonder of live entertainment is an American Family Theatre production, and sponsored by Fenimore Asset Management and FAM Funds.

Family Focus
Research and anecdotal information suggests that families that play together grow and stay together. At the same time, increased demands and options available to every family member create real obstacles to “togetherness” — especially in financially challenging times.

Reaching across the footlights and into the homes of the extended Capital Region residents it serves, Proctors inaugurated a special series of entertainments to promote shared family time at the Schenectady entertainment complex.

According to Susan Fowler, Director of Programming and Marketing, “we were able to combine several entertainment events into a dynamic package that will be affordable to most families – through the team work and support of Proctors Education Department, its Box Office, and through the sponsorship of Fenimore Asset Management/FAM Funds.

“Although each event can stand on its own merit, and can be attended separately,” says Ms. Fowler, “we believe that packaging these events as a series creates an offering that parents and children can look forward to and plan around.”
