For those who have ever dreamed of floating through the air, master Illusionist Lyn Dillies, Parent’s Choice© Award winner, will mesmerize, tantalize and excite with astounding illusions and the glitz and glamour of Vegas!

The Magic of Lyn is the second installment of a four-part family series offered by Proctors and is appropriate for all ages. The show is part of the Fenimore Asset Management/FAM Funds Family Series at Proctors. The Series is designed to introduce young people to the excitement, magic and wonder of live
entertainment.

About Illusionist LYN DILLIES

A recent recipient of the 2009 Merlin Award for Best Female Illusionist from the International Society of Magicians, Lyn has shared the stage with such notable entertainers as Marvin Hamlisch, Jeff Dunham, Bill Engval, Crystal Gayle, and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

One of the proudest moments of Lyn’s career was when she became the first illusionist in magic history to make two live Asian elephants, Ruth and Emily, appear in succession. The event was held outdoors in front of a live audience for the grand opening of the Buttonwood Park Zoo in her hometown of New Bedford, MA. It took eight months to prepare for this incredible spectacle and required more than 5,000 square feet of fabric, 300 feet of truss, two cases of red seedless grapes (the pachyderms’ favorite treat) and a little sleight of trunk!

Family Focus

Research and anecdotal information suggests that families that play together grow and stay together. At the same time, increased demands and options available to every family member create real obstacles to “togetherness” — especially in financially challenging times.

Reaching across the footlights and into the homes of the extended Capital Region residents it serves, Proctors inaugurated a special series of entertainments to promote shared family time at the Schenectady entertainment complex.

According to Susan Fowler, Director of Programming and Marketing, “we were able to combine several entertainment events into a dynamic package that will be affordable to most families – through the team work and support of Proctors Education Department, its Box Office, and through the sponsorship of Fenimore Assets Management.

“Although each event can stand on its own merit and can be attended separately,” says Ms. Fowler, “we believe that packaging these events as a series creates an offering that parents and children can look forward to and plan around.”
