What’s Ahead for the 2012 Berkshire Fringe?

Posted by Gail M. Burns - December 2011

As we plan our 2012 season, Bazaar Productions and The Berkshire Fringe have a few New Year’s Resolutions we wanted to share with you! And we hope you might be able to help make our resolutions come true with your support.

Produce Our Own New Work!

That’s right, you heard it here first. Bazaar Productions plans to create an original evening-length piece for the 2012 Berkshire Fringe. It will be innovative and mind-blowing, just like everything you would expect from a piece at the Fringe! Want to know what it is about? Here’s a hint: it’s electric! Still want to know more? We plan to have a few readings as we develop the play. We’ll let you know about the readings, so that you can come and experience the process of creating a new show.

Longer Running Shows!

Feel like you just hear about a great Fringe show and then it is gone before you can buy your tickets! Well, this summer each Fringe artist will present thier show more times over a longer period. That way, when your bestie tells you over coffee at Fuel that s/he just saw the most amazing show at the Fringe, you’ll be able to check out the schedule, see that the show is still playing for another week and head over to Simon’s Rock to see for yourself.

More Artists in Residence!

It’s hard to create original works of theater, dance and music. Emerging artists would not be able to do it without support from organizations like ours. So we’ve decided to offer more opportunities to the artists who come to the Fringe. They will stay longer and have ample rehearsal space and time to develop new work! The will be able to use the time as they see fit to create new new innovative and mind-blowing works for the stage. They will even invite audiences to view a work-in-progress or attend open rehearsals.

You can help make all of this happen! As you do your end of the year finances and decide you need to make a few more contributions to your favorite not-for-profit organizations, make sure to remember The Berkshire Fringe and what we do for our community. We provide high-quality original theater, dance and music to the Berkshire community at affordable prices. We have many Free workshops and concerts open to all of our community members. We can’t do it without you! Make a donation today.

Happy New Year!

See you soon at one of our free or affordable events!

Cheers,

Sara, Peter and Ryan
